Samantha's Visit To Good Ol' E Town

This past weekend, one of my friends from home came down, Samantha. We absolutely had a blast! She got here about 2 in the afternoon and we just kinda hung out for a while and then Nicole, Sam and I went to a park for a little bit. After returning from that we had our pizza kegger to go to. For all those that don't know what that is, it is all you can eat pizza. We just substituted the alcohol for pizza. Not only is it better for you, it tastes better too. That was a blast! Had some good laughs! The guy I like, MacKay, came with us to this little rendezvous. That was pretty exciting! After the pizza party, I guess that is what you would call it, there was an ALLRED performance. John, Dave, and Jason were the ones to plan and Nate sat by us. He was a hoot. Really enjoyed the laughs there. MacKay had kinda wandered off so he didn't sit with us for the show but we met up with him after to go get snow cones at the Sugar Plum Cottage. Sam had to experience the snow cones. Everyone should experience the snow cones. They are delicious. They have ice cream in them and they have just about any flavor you can think of.

Saturday we just watched movies all day. Sam, Kortney and I all went to visit my roommate Emily at the Malt Shop (she works there). That was fun. I made dinner for everyone. Chicken-catch-a-taco. Good stuff! Sam went to the play with Kortney and Brittany and I worked on some homework. After which we watched ANOTHER movie, She's The Man.

Yesterday Sam went home about 12. We had a good church service. Curt, Wes and Sam(different Sam than before) came over for a visit before church. Those boys crack me up. After church we had our home teachers come and Brittany and I went and did our visiting teaching. I still had a paper to write and it was 10 o'clock pm. Nicole and I had planned to have a sleep over and I was going to cut her hair. I did a great job by the way, it was my very first time ever cutting someone's hair. I started writing my paper at about 1 am I decided I needed a break, I still wasn't done, and so we cut Nicole's hair. Got done with that at 2 am and I was working on my paper more. Next thing I knew it was 3 am and I wasn't exactly tired. We were definately tired because we were laughing at EVERYTHING! At this point we decided to just stay up all night. 4 am roll around and we decided we needed something to keep us awake during our classes and even then. So we went to maverick and got rockstar's.

I finished my paper at about 6 and I showered. Nicole styled my hair and we came back to my apartment to make pancakes. That is when we broke open the rockstars. I wish I would have gotten a video of this because it was pretty intense. I was cooking a pancake and I had to belch. I started counting to 3 and I was planning on letting a good one out. I did not make it to 3. I started laughing so hard after I said two. I was laughing so hard I couldn't breath and I was crying. That happened for about an hour. We made Kortney sit in between us in our class so that we wouldn't be disruptive and laugh the entire time. I would call it giggling but it wasn't exactly giggles. We were full on laughing until we turned blue from lack of oxygen. That is a little exaggeration but you get the point.

Well, I made it through all my classes. In my History of Economics class, I have that with MacKay, we sat and talked the entire time! He is such a sweet boy! He went to go get him a drink and he bought me a sprite too. In our conversation through class he asked if I wanted to do a study group and work on our take home test together. We worked it out that we would go to his house at 2:30. I told him I would turn the volume up on my phone all the way so I would hear it if I fell asleep and he called. That is what happened. He asked how long I needed to wake up and get ready before he came to get me and I said just a few minutes. He then again offered to go buy me another sprite. I told him thanks but I wasn't even finished with the first one! haha! It was just very sweet of him and thoughtful. We got our test done and enjoyed good conversation.

Right now I'm going on about 2 hours of sleep. This is the first time I've ever done something like this. It has been quite the day and weekend. I've enjoyed it.

Taxes...

I HATE TAXES!! I've been doing tax things since 1:30 this afternoon and I'm still not done! EZ form my shoe! There isn't an easy thing about it! I mean when I did it on turbotax.com it took me two minutes. I was thrilled! That was just my federal one though. I still have the state one. I thought I was doing good and then I got down to where you figure out if you owe or if you get a refund and I was supposed to owe $198!!! NO WAY! I'm not paying $198! haha! That is so much money and I don't have it! That isn't even the last of it. Go figure that for my personal finance class I have to fill out a tax form for a hypethetical example. If I had a real W-2 maybe...just maybe I would be able to figure it out but it is all written out and that just throws me off like no other. It is so frustrating.

I'm done with this post. Just needed to say I hate taxes! :D

Winter Driving Condtions

Well we all know when we are driving in the winter, especially right after a huge snow storm, it takes double or triple the time it would usually take to get anywhere! Well I don't know about you but I kinda like a little slip every now and then. It is fun. I'm not saying I drive fast and then slam on my breaks but when I turn onto my street and my tail end goes a little this way and that way, it is fun. Well the other day I got stuck THREE times. The first time was not bad. I went to pick up my friend Nicole and she lives in a circle and so I just pulled around in the circle and I stopped in the wrong spot. A couple of times putting the car into drive and reverse again got me right out. The next time was at the church! Seeing as we both thought donuts were fun, we went to do a couple and the last one we did we went into the snow bank! That was an adventure to get out of there! We were just about out, still pretty stuck though, when to our rescue three cute boys came to do donuts too! They saw us poor struggling girls (we weren't that poor and we weren't struggling to bad, it is just to add effect) and they came over to push us out! How nice! Thanks guys! (I have no idea who they were) We got out of there with no damage, and drove to my house. After leaving again to go get shortening for the cookies we'd be making, I stopped in front of my drive way to let Nicole out and when I went to full forward I didn't turn far enough and what do you think happened? I got stuck in another snow bank! Go figure right? Well even though I had such a problem with getting stuck, the cookie making ended well and I have a funny story to tell!

Finals!

So finals are not fun. At all! The hardest part of this past week and finals is I have no motivation to study! I didn't have many classes with finals I needed to study for but I still could have studied more than I did. I've been pretty bored too! I don't know what to do with my time when I don't work or I don't have homework. I had two finals on Tuesday and one today. Since I didn't have anything yesterday Nicole stayed the night. We went to Walmart and wandered around. Well she pushed me around in a wheel chair. The best part was because there was a little girl about six or seven that saw me. She stood at the end of the isle and we made eye contact and she stood there a little while longer and then she ran off. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life! It was so funny!! After we had fun there we went back to Nicole's house and helped her roommate Leanna M&M attack a guy in her ward. Very fun! His room was trashed with M&Ms! We went to bed at about two and slept in until 12. ha. Then Lydia and I made waffles! They were delicious! Lydia and I will return to our homes Saturday so tomorrow we're going to have the house to ourselves! What are we going to do? So far we have plans to go hot tubbing! Well this is my update!

Nicknames

So my roommates and I stayed up last night and we made nicknames for each other. No two are a like and what we call one no one else can call them. I call Emily, Ily, Brittany, Any, Brook, Rook, Kortney, Ort, Lydia, Dia, and that is it. Mine are Ic and Mc. Fun night! We didn't want to go to bed. We sat and talked about how much we should be in bed but we continued to talk and laugh. I had more to this post but when I tried to post it last night it didn't work so I will just leave it as this much of a post! :D

Homecoming

This past week has been homecoming. On Monday, they had a place where you could paint your car windows. Tuesday, was the choral concert. Lydia and Emily both sang in it so I went. Wednesday, they had the powderpuff football game. I wanted to go but I told myself I couldn't unless I got my math done. I didn't get my math done before so I couldn't go. It's ok though. Thursday was the Miss Snow pageant. Friday was a pep rally and bon fire. The pep rally wasn't that great but it was really cool how we did the bon fire. The football team lite tourches and they all walked down to an empty field by the institute building. They threw their tourches on to the pile of wood. The fire was HUGE!Lydia didn't want to stay too long so we didn't. Kortney, Cassidy, Nate, Brandon, Justin, Melinda, Lydia and I all hung out at our apartment. We watched The Notebook. Food was the only way we got those boys to watch that movie with us. After we watched The Notebook we watched Cloverfield. I took a nap during that movie. ha ha! BTW, all those boys that I named are the ones that those left shoes belong to. It was a ton of fun! They think Kortney and I are crazy because they found out that we blog. Oh well! Today was a 5k walk run, parade, game, and then the dance. I didn't go to the dance and so my roommates and I made a bunch of goodies! It was so much fun! we made a pumpkin roll and homemade mac and cheese. The mac and cheese wasn't very cheesy and it kinda had a floury taste. Still good though!

Too long...

It has been a really long time since I've posted anything so I guess I better get on that. It is so much easier to talk about things that interest you then writing stupid papers about the dress code that is hypothetical! I've been trying to write a paper for my english class for HOURS and nothing comes! I have two paragraphs and I still have three more to go! Nicole wants me to go to the dance tonight too. I think it is going to be lame though because they usually just play rap and all the grinding music and I don't dance like that nor do I even like that music.

Well the only thing that was super exciting that has happened was, I think it was last week, Lydia and I took some left shoes from the boys down stairs. They never lock their door and Kortney took them with her Walmart. We didn't even have the plan until they were gone. Lydia was eating the rest of the quesidilla that I made at work and brought home to eat later and I popped up and asked if she wanted to go steal their shoes. The boys down stairs decided they were going to do some Ninja trick and so Kortney helped arrange it so that they could take Lydia's green Volkswagon bug model car. This is her dream car. We decided to take their shoes and hold them ransom. We never told Kortney though because she is the one that is really friends with them and we thought she'd tell them. It turned out we only had one shoe that they really needed. He needed it by tuesday morning for PE. Once Kortney found out that it was ust that had their shoes, she asked to be in on it. We allowed that. We shouldn't have though because that little stinker took the one shoe they needed and gave it back once she found out where it was. I wasn't happy about it in the beginning but we laugh about it now. Turns out that they still have the car, we still have some shoes..and a few other things that I'm not sure they realize are missing..haha! and we don't exactly have a way to get back the bug. We'll think of something I suppose. Next time I know they aren't there I'll just go search. We did that before but didn't have a clue as to where it was. This time I have a little better of an idea. Well I have a feeling I'm going to get kicked off because Nicole said she is almost to my house and she is going to drag me to this stupid dance. GRR! Jk! I'm sounding like Lydia! She doesn't like dances.

Oh and did I mention the light in my room doesn't work? Yeah...for some reason it doesn't work. You might think it is the light bulb but I don't think it is. It happened to Brook and Brittany just a week or two ago where their light would kind of short out...I think that is ours too. We'll see. The maintanence man is supposed to come check it out tomorrow sometime. It is kinda fun to do my homework with my lamp. We also have pretty festive orange lights in our window. They are a good night light for when I go to bed at eleven and Kortney comes home in between 12 and 1 from the boy's apartment down stairs. She doesn't have to confront the dark.
