The Month of May

Well, I haven't updated my blog in a while and I keep thinking about doing it but then I don't feel like it so I don't. I was just thinking about it though and on the 1st of May I graduated from Snow. My blog is titled, College Life of Jessica...that doesn't really work now. I guess I'm still college aged but I'm not in college. Eh, I guess it doesn't matter that much. Just sometimes I think I should plan ahead. Anyway, back to the month of may. As I said before, I graduated on the 1st.
Then on the 2nd I flew down to St. Maarten to meet up with my mom and step dad. We spent a week there and that was fun. We went snorkeling and my mom and I went on a zip line thing. Did some shopping on both sides of the island. One side is Dutch and there other side is French. We also took a boat to St. Barths and that apparently is where a lot of celebrities go on vacation. Didn't see any though. We also spent a day on the beach watching the planes come in. That was awesome!! Lovedit.

Since I've been back here in Colorado, I worked for a couple days as a landscaper where my mom works and spent time with family and just relaxed. I only worked a couple days because of all the snow and rain. We weren't able to work when the weather was bad (not that I would want to) and then shortly after all that the big wigs of the place decided that our crew was one they could do without so they laid us all off! Dang! I've stayed pretty busy though I haven't been working. This last week my brother bought a house and so my mom and I have been over there cleaning it up and painting. It is amazing what a fresh coat of paint will do. I took me about two days just to do the cupboards though! Ugh! They turned out nice though! I love my family! My niece is just a hoot. You tell her no and she asks why, you say because I said so and her response is, "my mommy says yes." haha! Love her! She asks why about everything and she asks the same questions over and over and over. Children! ;)

Finals

So this week is finals! Today was the last day of classes and I so did not have the motivation to go! It is all over now though! I had a final in my Intro to Visual Art class and I think I did really well on it. I also had my practical final for sign language. Can I just say I was super scared? I mean I can talk Ashley in sign language and everything but to have to talk to my teacher about specific things she asks me is kinda scary. I did well on that one too. I only understood half of what she was signing to me but I got the concepts...I think...and that is what is important in sign language! She told me I got an A so that is good. I have to take two more finals. One whenever...it's online, and one on Wednesday night. Physical science. I haven't even started studying for it. Should be fine though. This has been such a nice semester! So so stress free. Way to end my Snow College Career right? On a happy note. :D

In one week from to day I will be in the Caribbean and I couldn't be more excited! I have no idea what my parents have planned to do but I'm just going to tag along and enjoy the sun! Sounds fun right?

Last Week at Snow College

Well I'm moving into my last week here at Snow. I'm graduating and moving on to bigger and better things. This year as been truly amazing. I've learned so much and met so many amazing people. I don't think I'm much of a writer because I'm already at a loss for words and I've just started this post. You'd think since I haven't posted anything since September I'd have a ton to say.

Well, in my apartment it ended up just being Christina, Ashley, BreAnna, Lydia and I for most of the year and then this last semester Christina moved out and we got a new one. She hasn't been social at all really so she's lived here since February and I still don't know her at all. Has still been a fun year though. Things we've done this year is we had a pie party. Spill the pumpkin pie just like last year! Haha! So mostly had apple pie but it was good and fun. Had a movie night on the ceiling. Pulled all the mattresses out and invited friends over. Ended up sleeping in the living room that night. Sponsored and Easter egg hunt for Caleb who is from Washington and had never had an Easter egg hunt before. We've had other movie nights as well just enjoying the old Disney classics. I went for a day with out shoes. That was such a cool experience. I did it to bring awareness to the children who go everyday without them and who die because of the diseases that they get from the cuts in their feet. Many can't even go to school without shoes. That day in my Circuit Training class we walked to the Malt Shop and got ice cream. That wasn't that long of a walk compared to what I'm sure those children have to walk to get water and such but it was really humbling to feel some of those pains that they experience.

Classes last semester went fine. Biology was really hard but I passed it. Quilting was also a favorite class as well. I'm so proud of my quilt top. I actually just finished it this semester. This semester I took Physical Science, met three of the cutest girls in there, Piano II, Foods, Circuit Training, ASL, and Intro to Visual Art. I have really enjoyed all of them. I worked at the library this year as well. It was such a fun job. I went to work, made sure all the books were in order on the shelves and then did homework. I got acquainted with a lot of people that way also.

My ward this year was awesome. At first I was skeptical and I was just like oh great, I'm in a weird ward but I have really learned to love the people I thought were most annoying. Heavenly Father always does that to me. Whenever I don't like someone and I judge them he always provides me with an opportunity to get to know them and find out who they really are. I love it. My testimony has grown so much this past year and I'm now planning on serving a mission. I'm so excited for everything that life has in store for me. I'm going to China this Aug. and I can't wait. I was talking to one of the girls in my Physical Science class tonight about her adventure abroad and it sounded like it was hard. She didn't hold back details. Well, maybe she did but some of the things she said make me nervous but at the same time I know that I will grow so much from the hard things I will grow through. That is what life is about anyway right? Learning to rely on Heavenly Father and become more like him? I'm excited to experience a different culture and have my eyes opened to the world around me.

Another thing that I've really learned to do this past year is set goals. I've never really been a goal setter and the goals I've set haven't been academic goals or goals so much for the future but goals for myself and goals that have really helped me become a better person. I know I still have a ton of work but it has made me feel better about myself knowing that I am progressing. Life is so good and I'm so grateful to be where I am at in my life right now. I know I'm doing what I should be doing and I will continue to do what I can to be the best person I can be.

I think I'm going to go get ready for bed right now but I'll try and be better about posting more. I'll try adding pictures to make things more interesting.

Well...procrastination..

Well I'm back at Snow College now. I love it. Just as much as I loved it last year. I am not living in the house with Lydia that we so badly wanted to live in. We couldn't afford it so we are now living in a four bedroom apartment. We have roommates and they are pretty cool. Christina and Shelby have their own room, Ashley and BreAnna share a room and then of course Lydia and I share. It is an older apartment but it isn't bad. I really like it. School has been going for about two weeks now. Talk about CRAZY! I'm talking some good classes. My favorite is interior design. I think. That is what I am considering as my major.

I got my car back this last weekend. It has been nice to have it back by it was also nice not having it because I was forced to walk everywhere. It also helped me save money I think because not only did I not have to buy gas but I couldn't just run to walmart anytime I needed something.

Well, my hair is growing back. It is getting to the point where I feel like I need a hair cut or at least a hair style.

I've got a wedding this week. I'm pretty excited about it! What else do I need to fill you in on?

I'll just go write my letters now. I've got to write to Elder Afoa and Elder Bench.

2 Months as of yesterday

So it has been a while since my last post. A lot has happened since then. I finished my first year of college. I went to Colorado for a couple days. I gave one of my friends THE best birthday present she could have asked for and I got a job and started back at the Lion House.

My hair is growing in quite nicely. I can do some fun things. Kind of...Just a little while longer and I'll be able to do even more. I did a fohawk in it the other day. That was fun. I didn't wear it anywhere because I feel ridiculous but still did it and took pictures.

Colorado was awesome! I got to spend lots of time with my mom and my niece. She's just getting so big. She is about a year and a half now. I played with my mom's cricket. That was fun. For all over you who don't know what that it is, it is a machine that makes cards and can cut out pretty much any kind of shape. You can make borders for pictures and do fun letters and stuff. It is quite fancy. Avid scrapbooker's must have. I made Sam a cute birthday card on it. And I made a baby card on it for my cousin who is expecting a baby boy at the first of June. I got to see her while I was in Colorado too.

When I got back Sam had a birthday party. We attempted to hike up donut falls but there was a TON of snow still. We ended up getting into a snow ball fight. That was fun. We got back to her house and ate pizza. We got back kinda early and I was worried that people were going to leave and the party was going to end before my magnificent present even showed up. But it didn't. Everyone was still there. I had John Allred, one of Sam's favorite people, come to her party to play. I met him in front of her house and Sam's mom had her come inside for a minute and right as she got inside John rang the door bell. Sam answered it and tada! John just said, I heard there was a party here. Smooth eh? It was kinda funny because I asked Sam if I could have a piece of the cheesecake that Nick was making for her the night before her party and she shut me down. I didn't worry about it though. I simply said, I'll ask again tomorrow. And so I did. I leaned over to Sam after John got there and said, now can I have a piece? She didn't hesitate in saying yes then. haha! I kinda rock at giving good presents. Sometimes. I gave Nicole one that she loved too. I got her a shirt of one of our favorite bands when I went to their concert. She freaked when she got that too. It has been a fun month with birthdays!

I haven't started at my new job yet but I hope it is a good one. I will be working at the Water Mart and Gelato's. I've never tried it but I'm excited to! It is supposed to be a place like Coldstone or Cafe Rio where it looks so much fun to work and we sing for tips and stuff. I am way excited! Heavenly Father really knows how to answer my prayers! I've seen it a lot lately. Couldn't be happier.

Thats all for now folks. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Baldy?

Look What I Did!
So, if I didn't make a post about this I think we'd have a problem. Tonight was the Lets Make A Deal "thing". (I don't know what else to call it) There was lots of things going on. One of the first things I attempted to do was eat cat food. Can I just say SICK?! You had to text your first and last name to one of the two numbers on a big poster. The first five people to text each of the numbers got to go up. I was one of them. The thing was to eat a bowl full of sea food flavored cat food and water. I don't like sea food. I don't know why I even took one bite. I was the only girl that took a bite of the cat food. I got one bite down but I didn't even want to try and get another one. I walked back to my seat and the next thing I know, Matt asked for a young lady to shave her head for $300. I didn't even hesitate! Why? I have NO IDEA! I don't know why I did it. He said he'd give me an extra hundred to buzz it even shorter than planned. And I said ok! Lydia and Nicole sat right in front of me both shaking their heads in disappointment. I miss my hair but I am going to use this experience as a way to bring awareness to cancer and write my research paper for my English final.

Now that I think about what I've done though I don't know what my boss is going to think...or how I'm even going to get a job this summer. We'll see.

I didn't mention though the fact that my hair wasn't donated, or thrown away. It was eaten. By a guy named Heath. This is the picture of Heath and I.
